"ASTER" is an extension for CF25, and its name derives from the Latin word for "little star", in reference to the asterisk used in REGEX.

Initially developed as a small extension capable of handling regular expressions, the beta version began around 2022.

In 2024, the official version was released, featuring a variety of functionalities beyond regular expressions.

Starting from 2025, efforts will be made to create English and French versions of the document.
